Vermirror Pro™ Comparator Mirror

The Vermirror has been great fun to use, and I am glad that I bought it. I learned quickly how to use the Vermirror to vastly improve my pencil drawings. If I did not know that I produced these drawings, then I would not have believed it. I am looking forward to drawing more of these little “Vermiracles”.

The Vermirror is amazing. I finally had a chance to set it up and make a test painting with gouache on watercolor paper, a medium I'm not familiar with. There's a lot I need to learn about gouache, but I was pleased with the potential! I also needed to spend more time in perfecting the configuration of the Vermirror, but it became pretty intuitive on how to use it once I got started. I didn't expect to get used to painting "through" the mirror so fast! And I'm excited to experiment more without worrying about ruining sketches.

The two main tricks that have helped with setting up the mirror: 1) Using a level to check the original image and the 45 degree angle of the mirror, and 2) Once finding the final placement of the mirror, taping the base down so it won't move if I accidentally bump it.

The Vermirror is wicked af and I highly recommend for avid painters who are looking for a new way to achieve photo perfection. I recently watched Tim’s Vermeer (definitely recommend, the movie itself is so fascinating and eye opening) and was curious if I could find a device similar to the one used in the film. I was pleasantly surprised to find the exact thing I was looking for! I have been recommending this to all my art friends and shall also be recommending this to any artist I meet, it’s so cool! Add on to that, Ryan (the founder) is absolutely lovely and very kind, even had a handwritten note in my order! 10/10 recommended for anyone who is considering the Vermirror!

Well made and functional, all controls are by friction- but seem to work well with a minimum of fuss. Be careful though as the mirror is easily dislodged- I plan on using some double sticky tape to make sure to hold it in place.
